CLASSES
OFFERED AT KINETIC REVELATION:
Dance Anatomy is part of our
curriculum in 45+ minute classes for age 11 & up, Dance Anatomy
is included in your class once per month. This helps students understand how
God designed the body to operate and reduces the likelihood of injury.
Prayer is a regular part of
class, and we often have short Bible studies, especially in preparation for our dance concerts so that the students understand
what they are a part of.
Once per month
we have a "fun day" where the dress code is relaxed slightly and we do an
enrichment activity for dance, such as coloring with our feet to improve the
articulation of our feet, or watching part of a DVD relating to dance.
NEW CLASS!!! ME & MY SHADOW:
Ages 2-4.
For Child and a Caregiver. Because children love to
copy what those they love are doing, and this class lets the caregiver spend
quality, fun bonding time with their student while dancing and learning more
about God. Students will be introduced to basic ballet positions, work on
large motor skills and concepts such as rhythm, and explore many ways to move.
This class is a no-pressure introduction to worship dance where we use props
such as small worship flags. Only one fee is charged for both
participants.
BALLET/TAP
COMBO:
Ages 3-5. Half ballet, half tap
keeps us
moving and learning technique appropriate for
this age and level of development. It is a fun, fast paced
introduction
to both the extremely
important foundation of ballet, and the fun and rhythm of
tap.
BALLET:
Ages 6 and up. Ballet is the foundation that
other styles of dance build on and it's
importance to dance training can't be overstated. We use a
curriculum that
encompasses elements of the three major
schools of ballet, to give students a well-rounded ballet
education. It also
increases poise, confidence, flexibility and
strength.
TAP:
Ages 6 and up. In this percussive form of
dance,
students learn various styles of
tap, how to hear and count rhythms, and
tap dynamics.
JAZZ:
Ages 8 & up with ballet training, or 10 & up without.
Encompasses current and appropriate jazz
technique, including Broadway to Contemporary styles.
WORSHIP:
Ages 8 and up. Focus on utilizing technique-based
dance as worship, including fabrics,
flags, shadowing, interpreting scripture through dance, and more.
Ballet technique class
and/or experience is requested to
take this class.
HIPPITY HOP:
Ages 5-7.
Stressing appropriate movement within the genre and
ability of this age group. An exciting, fun-filled introduction to hip
hop!
HIP HOP:
Ages 8 and up. Stressing appropriate movement
within current hip hop styles and
trends, and use of the genre for worship and praise
POINTE: Age
12 & up, with several years of previous ballet training
and by teacher's evaluation
and referral only. Stressing proper ballet technique while using pointe shoes for the
dancer who is both emotionally and physically ready for this challenge. Sufficient turn out, strength,
balance, and mastery of basic ballet technique is required, and the student must
take ballet at least two times per week.
All classes are
technique based, graded to be appropriate for each child's level
of development,
and include work on rhythm and musicality..

TUITION
We offer family
discounts, which means that your discounts are applied to all
classes in one family. Some classes have two lessons per week, and are priced
accordingly, but they are still one class. As
an example, if one student
in a family takes 4 classes (or three students in a
family take a
total of 4 classes) the four
class discount is applied, even if one or more of the classes meets twice a week.
*See below
the tuition chart for our discount
percentages.
We also offer
need-based scholarships. Please see below the multi-class discount percentages
chart for information
on scholarships..
We have discounted our
classes as much as possible to allow as many students to dance as possible.
If you are in a position to support this ministry by giving above and beyond
tuition, it would be greatly appreciated and would support our scholarship
program as well as ministry expenses. Thank you for your consideration!

SCHOLARSHIPS:
Applications for a limited
number of need-based scholarships are available. Deadline
for submission of scholarship
applications for the 2010-2011 season is August 13, 2011, however, if all slots are not filled, additional
scholarships may be awarded after the deadline. This year we have been blessed with a donor who is underwriting a portion of our
scholarship program.
Please do not apply
for a scholarship if you are able to pay tuition
without it.
Scholarships will be awarded subject to class availability. Scholarship
placement will not occur until a maximum of one week prior to the start of a
semester. A class must reach minimum enrollment, but not maximum
enrollment of students paying regular tuition in order to place any scholarship
student in a class.
Scholarship recipients may enroll
each student in 1 or 2 classes maximum, so that as many students as
possible are able
to take classes. A parent may also apply to
take one class. Please only apply for students who are truly
motivated to take
dance classes, and only if you are truly not able to pay for classes. Regular
attendance and investing volunteer time to assist the studio is
required.
Each family will be required to
pay a minimum tuition total of $5 each month, and maximum up
to our regular tuition
scale with discounts, based on a
sliding scale dependent on the financial need of each family.
Your reduced tuition
must be paid in full each month. Any
family 30 days past due on tuition will be discontinued from the
scholarship program.
If a student becomes a behavior problem on a continuing basis, that student will
be exempted from the scholarship program. We will make every reasonable
effort to work with the student on improving behavior prior to taking any steps
to end their participation in the scholarship program.
All scholarship applications
turned in by the deadline will
be considered. Acceptance
into the scholarship program is based largely on annual household
income and number
of people residing in the household
who are dependent on household income, but other extenuating
circumstances will be considered
as well.
For more information, please
e-mail us a request for a
scholarship application.
